Case Study
TheFaceLab
Beauty salon brand in Oxfordshire — built from nothing, kept running.
Where it started
Paige came to me at the very beginning — no website, no domain, no digital setup of any kind. She was launching TheFaceLab and needed someone to handle everything on the tech side so she could focus on building her business.
From the first conversation, it was clear this wasn't just a website job. She needed a partner who would actually take ownership of the digital side, communicate clearly, and be there when things came up — not just deliver a finished file and disappear.
What we built
We started by mapping out what she needed and finding inspiration together — getting a clear sense of direction before touching anything. I set up a shared Google Drive to keep everything organised and easy to hand back if she ever needed it.
I built a series of demo websites so Paige could see real options and make confident design decisions, rather than trying to picture things from a brief. From there I handled the domain setup, walked her through the costs and options, and kept her in the loop at every step.
One early challenge: Paige wanted to apply for Klarna finance for the salon, which required a live web presence with full terms and conditions. The full website wasn't ready yet — so I built a clean, compliant temporary page specifically for the Klarna application. It did the job, she got approved, and we moved on.
More than a website
Tech support for a small business doesn't stop at the browser. I've helped Paige with speaker setup at the salon, sorted issues with the iPad used for bookings and client management, and fielded all kinds of questions as they've come up.
That's the nature of working with an early-stage business — things move fast, priorities shift, and sometimes you just need someone to sort it. I've been that person throughout.
Where things are now
The full website build is currently in progress. Paige has a detailed log of everything we've done together — every decision, every change, every conversation — so nothing is ever lost or unclear.
The relationship is ongoing. She knows she can drop me a message when something comes up, and I'll get to it. That kind of accessibility isn't something you get from an agency.
"Built from the ground up — domain, design, setup, and the kind of day-to-day support that actually keeps a business running."
